July is bursting with news
So I haven't done a book review for a long while, but that doesn't mean that I haven't read. There are a lot of good books that I have read. Maze Runner, The Looking Glass Wars and Raised By Wolves just to name a few. I highly recommend them. July has started and so has the second year of our marriage. Sometimes it feels like it has been long- in a good way. Sometimes it seems like we just begun. We were able to spend the third of July up Provo canyon with Cory's grandparents. It was a lot of fun. We saw a lot of rafts coming down on the water and it looked so fun. Maybe next time. Does it seem like time is flying? It does for us. We started back at the drive in, but luckily we have enough awesome people to make it so we don't have to be there every Friday and Saturday night. We are pretty excited about the movies we have seen so far- A Team, Karate Kid, Prince of Perisa, Iron Man 2, Toy Story 3, and Eclipse. All well worth the price of the ticket to see them, only we didn't have to pay as we work for the theater. Allergy season is well in force. I am having a hard time getting up in the mornings because of them. So is Cory. I started taking some Claritin D, so I will stop being so congested. Only that makes me so groggy. So I only use it when I have to. All in all though, we are doing pretty good. Just busy like always!

Bringing in the Spring
Well, spring is in. We got to spend time with Cory's friends in Orem and also with his family. His sister, Joni, came down from Washington with her kids and spent about a week with us. We had a lot of fun and wished that they could have stayed longer. I have started getting things for the Drive In ready. This is the fifth summer that I will have worked for the Drive In and I love it. So I have been busy making up time sheets, and manuals. I am waiting to go in the drive in and get the painting finished with some other projects that I want to start. I also have been trying to talk my senior candy girls into working this summer. Some are not buying it. Cory is again working as a tour guide, but just on the weekends when they really need him. He got the sprinkling system set up around our yard so we only have to move two hoses when we want to mow the lawn. We are talking about a garden, but haven't done anything yet. So we better get going on it if we want one. I finally got my spare room organized. It is so nice to be able to walk in there and find things. We have some good movie experiences. I think our spring favorite movie was 'How to train you Dragon'. We loved it. It was a great family show. Spring has also brought us some alleregies. Even Cory has had some. It is driving him crazy. We have started getting up at four am. We feel more awake then at five. Don't ask, it is a mystery to us too. We are watching the Final season of Lost. And I have to say that I really do feel Lost most of the tme. Just when one thread is tied up, two or three new ones start. Also Dr. Rush is back on Destiny. And everyone is giving Col. Young a hard time about it. If only they knew the truth. I also called the Doctor being preggie, and I was right! Oh, I am talking about Stargate Universe. It is more like the battlestar Galatica then the previous Stargates. We are still out on weather we like it or not. It's kind of like a car crash, you can't help but look. Well that is about all the news I have to share, love you and be safe!

Winter Update
Okay, so I said that I would write book reviews when I got finished reading them. Since my last post, I have read over ten different books. I am currently finishing book 2 of the 100 Cupboards series by N.D. Wilson. It is great read so far and I just found out that book 3 was just released in January. As this is an update, I am going to let you know what has happened these last few months.
In October we had a Halloween party. It was really fun to have family and friends over. We mixed potion drinks, watched movies, and carved pumpkins. At the end of the month I got my 30th Birthday present. Cory took me out to eat and have a fun weekend. Cory's grandma Bullock was rushed to the hospital and we spent a lot of time there. But we couldn't stay at the hospital, so in between visits we went and saw some movies and did some shopping.
Grandma Bullock passed away in early November. It was bittersweet because we got to see Cory's parents and brother, but we lost her. It was a really nice funeral with Cory's dad giving a talk and Cory's mom singing a song at the services.
The week after the funeral, we got down to cutting wood. We had not really started because it seemed that every weekend in October was full. We cut for about fifteen minutes before we realised that we needed a new chain. So we went to the store. As we left the store, it started to snow. So we called in back up to help. Christian and JR came to our rescue(bribe-movie tickets) About thirty minutes after we finished, the snow stopped. New Moon opened on the 21st and I got to be the projectionist for all the extra shows we ran. It was a lot of fun and the movie was really good. I did all our Christmas shopping on line and got some good deals.
In December, Cory was really busy with FedEx. He usually didn't get home until 7pm. For our Christmas present we decided to get a wii and a couple of games. We really like it. Cory's parents had to come up to help divide Grandma Bullock's Estate. So we got to see them again. It was great Christmas. We got to see Sherlock Holmes and Avatar(3 times) We loved the shows.
In January, we worked and played. I gave Cory his new year's resolution. He needs to buy me a gift every month. I thought it was a great one. He bought me pearls and a teddy bear for January. We started two projects. One for each of us. Cory is cataloging the DVDs and I am going through cookbook. Cory is up to the I's and I have gone through every cookbook and marked the recipes I want to try. I have now completed 5 cookbooks and have about 10 to go. We are trying to eat a little healthier and exercise more. We have found that you can play the xbox 360 while walking on the tread mill. Cory didn't even notice he had been walking for an hour and a half until the machine shut off. He can also work on wii fit and I can walk and watch him. I also got to watch at the theaters-The Blindside, Extraorindary Measures, and Alvin and The Chipmunks 2 in January. They were great movies.
In February, we are excited to celebrate Valentine's day. Also to see the Percy Jackson Movie.
We are doing good. We love you. We'll keep you posted!

Multi book review
Okay, I have been sick and so I didn't feel much like blogging, but I did end up reading. So this review is for four books
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series
Book 2: Sea of Monsters 288 pages
Book 3: The Titan's Curse 320 pages
Book 4: Battle for the Labyrinth 384 pages
Book 5: The Last Olympian 400 pages
What are they about: In the first book, Percy uncovers a plot. There is a titan wanting to break free from his prison and he has finally found a way to do that. Only the gods are turning a blind eye to the things that are going bad. So Percy and his friends take Kronos on.
Why I liked it: It was a great story and I am that glad I got see more of Percy and his friends. It turned out really well and now I am wanting more stories.
I give the series a 41/2 out of 5.

Serpent Tide
Serpent Tide by K.L. Fogg
What it's about: A rich boy should have everything he wants, right? Welsey is a rich boy who dreams of being just a normal kid. His mom is a control freak and it makes his life very had. Then he finally talks his mom into buying him a dog for his birthday. He meets the Vet that is strangly familliar and invited to a summer day camp with horses. There he learns that the Vet had a sister and nephew that died years before. After doing some investiagting, Wesley finds out that he is the nephew and his dad is still alive. The only problem is that his 'Mom' is not ready to give up her son.
Why I liked it: It gives you a little insight on how the rich might feel sometimes. The characters were funny and real feeling, so it made it feel real.
I give it a 4 1/2 out of 5.

Book Review
So here we have a blog and we randomly update it. So I decided to do a little book review after I read a book. Reading is one of my favorite things. I believe there is a book genre for everyone. Just because I like something, doesn't mean you will. But reading different things can open up new worlds. I find these connections with books, so that when I am reading a space adventure or about a fantasy land, I can find something that calls to me. I pretty much will read anything, but my currant favorite is fantasy. With that said, here is the first book review.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightening Thief by Rick Riordan 392 pages
About the book: Percy is demigod. Only he doesn't know this at first. Strange things always seem to happen to him. Finally, his mom decides to send him to summer camp. Only this is no ordinary summer camp. It is a summer camp filled with other demigods just like him. He soon learns about his real father and all about this other world that is going on right alongside the other one. Zeus Lightening Bolt is stolen and they think Percy took it. So he is sent on a quest to either return it or find it. He will have the help of two companions along the way.
That's all I really want to say about the plot, in case someone wants to read it.
Why I liked it: I love how the author took myths and put them in our world. You get a little history lesson on the greek myths and see how they might be today. Zeus in a powersuit, Ares in black leather. The author did put his own spin on things, but does it in away to make you really believe that Mount Olympis could be on the 600th floor of the Empire State building. I have seen this book series for years now. I don't know what turned me off from picking it up. The cover? The title? Maybe even the plotline? They are making this into a movie, which is what changed my mind. I watch the trailer and thought any movie that cool looking has to be an excellant book, so for my birthday Cory bought me the first book. What can I say? I fell in love, so with the rest of my birthday money I bought the whole set. I can't wait it find out what happenes to Percy next.
I am going to give this book a 4 out of 5 because it is an excellant book but something in the marketing deal caused me to miss out on it for years.
So I highly recommend this book. It's enjoyable and fun for the whole family.

The Buzz
Last friday Cory had a day off. Since it would be the only one for the next couple of weeks, he wanted a honey do list(really, he asked for one) to work on. So I wrote down several things that need to get done and went to work. He then told me to take his gameboy and game so he wouldn't be tempted to just play. As I am pulling out of the yard, he is then trying to talk his way back into getting his game. The first thing on the list was mowing the lawn and cleaning up the yard for winter. I go to work and get a garbled message at about noon. It was from Cory and I couldn't understand him. I thought he was pranking me. So about half an hour, he calls back. I can understand him this time. He asked me to come home because he was hurt. So the bad wife that I am, I immediately think that he is trying to get his game back, so I told him that I would get there as soon as I finished at mom's. I hang up and talked to mom as I am finishing up. She agrees to let me go. I then start to worry that this is not a prank. I leave to go home. I get home and I smell that kind of campfire woody smell. I go in the house and it is stronger. I follow it to our bathroom and there is Cory with his face in the shower head. His face was burnt. Apparently when he was mowing the lawn, he went to move the burn barrel away to mow that area. In the barrel he noticed wasps. So he decided to burn them quickly out. He got newspaper and gas and put it in the barrel. He couldn't find the matches so he used a lighter. It caused a flash fire. He immediately went inside to cool it down. He has a small burn on his wrist, the hair on his right arm was burned off, luckily no burns on the rest of the arm. His neck got hit as well as his chin, lips, nose, cheeks, eyelids. His eyebrows, eyelashes and about an inch into his hairline. He spent the rest of the day in our bedroom with the a/c running at full blast. He had to wrap up in blankets to keep the rest of him from freezing. On Saturday we went to walmart to get his haircut. Want to know something funny? He got a Buzz cut. He's doing okay, but his poor face looks so sore.
